With the current economic situation going on in California, The GOP can write off their chances of holding CA-GOV in 2010. This also means that Phil Angeliedes and Bill Lockyer wont be running in 2010 either. I expect either John Garamendi, Jack O'Connell, Jerry Brown, John Chiang, Debra Bowen, Gavin Newsom, Loretta Sanchez and/or Steve Westly to run for Governor in 2010. I expect Poinzer to win his Primary 58%-42% at this point. Garamendi emerges from the Primary by 7% and crushes Poinzer 63%-37%. If Brown emerges, it is 65%-35% Brown. If it is O'Connell, it will be 64%-36% O'Connell. If it is Westly, it will be 62%-38% Westly. If it is Sanchez, it will be 62%-38% Sanchez. If it is Newsom, it will be 60.5%-39.5% Newsom. If it is Chiang, it will be 66%-34% Chiang. If it is Bowen, it will be 64%-36%. If Campbell emerges from the GOP Primary, it will be 69%-31% Garamendi, 71%-29% Brown, 67%-33% O'Connell, 66%-34% Westly, 64%-36% Sanchez, 70%-30% Chiang, 74%-26% Bowen, or 62%-38% Newsom. It is official, CA-GOV is gone for the GOP.
